Griottes Polyglottes is a French Language learning initiative. It helps both kids and adults improve their self-confidence while speaking French by using unique and fun methods of improvisation and theatre games.

Designing a single ad for social media was a challenge but researching helped me. Storytelling was the backbone for this project. I came up with a simple idea of ‘French Everything’ through fun and colourful word elements. I applied the brand’s colours and simple use of Chalkboard font to bring out the playfulness and essence of the brand.

The 13 words that are shown seem random; however, they are given new context when put beside the word “French.” 

I was met with some criticism for the lack of the 3 French flag colours, as well as the idea of using English for a French language campaign! Well, to that, I say: What’s the point of making a French Learning class ad for people who already speak French?
